At least Talas Researcher is less commited to {U} than Archivist and is more splashable in a multicoloured deck...although i would generally run Archivist over it anyways...anyone know what that thing is in the top right of the artwork? Looks like a dinosaur of some sort..

Arrr, who needs this shabby landrat if you can have her?
Plunder that bookworm's maps and set sail!
From maps, sea routes.
From sea routes, treasures.

Talas Researcher is my favorite Human Pirate Wizard. She's the best Human Pirate Wizard ever printed. You could do some really stupid stuff with Coat of Arms and this card. That deck would be stupid. Incidentally, I am experiencing an irresistible urge to search for all my humans and pirates and wizards and buy four copies of coat of arms... wait, it's gone. I'm going to not do that.
Also, the flavor text sounds very un-piratey. Pirates totally don't talk like that.
