I think you guys are greatly over looking the great combination in type 2 with Garruk Relentless i am sure both 3/3 wolves coming out, and 2/2 deathtouch wolves shall be feared

I like how Wizards made the untransformed counterparts humans AND werewolves as well. This means that all of your werewolf humans will most likely always have a +1/+1 boost.

So, if Gatherer has transfrom Cards handled, can they do the same thing to try and fix spit cards? The website is horible at them.

@TPmanW: Only if you try to use Mayor of Avabruck in Human tribal. It's likely that Howlpack Alpha's going into Werewolf tribal.

Of course, even if you use Mayor/Alpha in Human tribal, your opponent has to stop casting spells to get rid of the human lord. And even then, you get a token-making 3/3 beast instead.

How wierd would it be to have the human lord Mayor of Avabruck, and the elf champion Wren's run packmaster, together in a wolf tribal deck. Not as hard to pull off as you would think. The mayor does pump Master of the Wild Hunt after all.

I honestly think this guy is actually the downside to his mayoral counterpart in a lot of ways. The token's always nice but the added P/T while often nice will be a lot less valuable than the human tribal boost.
Within the context of Innistrad though the Howlpack has my vote over the Mayor anytime.
