Vertical Cycles don't always make the strongest rares. Laccolith whelp is probably the best of this one, and its the common. That's not to say I wouldn't draft this guy though.

Would you like to know more?

Shouldn't this be called Farrel's Titan?

thats the feeling that I get with all of the lacoliths, I want to use them in a deck so badly. I think its because they all shoot lava at random angles

I feel like this is pretty cool. Interesting redirection mechanic.

Honestly, a 6/6 for 7CMC with super first-strike (Yes, he can deal his damage to the creature he's blocking/blocked by, thus striking BEFORE even First Strike!) seems fine...
Also, the art is awesome, probably because masses of stuff being incinerated/exploding makes me giggle.

Hey, at 6/6, it's actually a titan!

@niceguygreensboro:
The 'farrel's ability' triggers if it isn't blocked.
Would be fun with Choking Vines if that card wasn't so restrictive
Still, pretty reasonable wrath effect with Lure or even Revenge of the Hunted. I'm just sad you can't target players.

I remember seeing a big picture of this guy in a page from some Magic magazine back when Nemesis first came out. I didn't have the rest of the magazine, it's nice to finally know what this guy's ability is!
