Dies to removal is generally a dumb argument, but when that removal is Scorching Spear, and it's a 3BlueBlue mythic, and it isn't Mirror-Mad Phantasm, there's a problem.

Blue seems to have an abundance in power lowering effects. Couple that with her and she turns out not that bad.... besides being really fragile. Definitely EDH/Commander material.

Catherine Zeta-Jones seems alright. I mean, you have to play with Lightning Greaves, and other creatures. Or, she could dominate you in a Limited game pretty easily, there's always that.

Interestingly, she works well in a Talrand, Sky Summoner EDH deck.

You'll have a bunch of 2/2 flying tokens lying around by just playing Gitaxian Probe for free (if that's your cup of tea), so why not have a continuous, no-extra-paperwork (as in, your opponent can get a Mind Control'ed creature back by destroying Mind Control). Even if she dies (and she'll die a lot), you still keep it.

The only, ONLY problem is the high cost versus toughness. A 1/2 or 1/3 would've been really great.

At the pre-release, I saw this used hilariously. Someone sacrificed a Elder Cathar to Demonmail Hauberk to make this a 7/5 and then beat face with it. The creature stealing was just a bonus. This 1/1 for 5 killed someone through damage.

It's uncommon because it's theft. (see mind control)
It's rare because it's repeatable. (see vedalkin shackles)
It's mythic because You keep what you take, even if beguiler dies

b*tch all you want, you're still going to be happy when you open one in a pack. Whether it's limited or otherwise, you're still going to be able to make off the dough when you trade it to a commander fan or a "younger kid who doesn't know the value of cards"

Remember, you take their weakest guys first. and they will have a weaker guy. Just because it doesnt steal their bomb automatically does not make it a bad card. and considering white-blue humans is a token making powerhouse in innestrad block, I really dont think you're going to have trouble taking their best guy on turn six.

5 mana for a 1/1. Her effect is only useful if you're running a creature heavy deck. If you're using Blue, then chances are, you are not running a creature heavy deck.

Commander Review: this guy blows. Why? Without outside help, it's a very expensive and vulnerable creature, that gives opponents one turn to react, by killing it or protecting their stuff. And IF it survives a turn, it stole one creature, so it does the same as a control magic for example. It only starts to become better after it's been in play, undisturbed, for 3 or more turns. Blatant thievery is a thousand times better.
2/5

swiftfoot boots. There a way to protect her AND allow her to use her tap ability the turn you cast her. It's in standard to.
