A 2/2 elephant? What's up with that? He's apparently a fair fight for a Calming Licid... and that thing is about the size of my hand.

Really should have been 3/3.

White has lots of elephants, but somehow I'd only splash it in elephant tribal for the multicolored ones. Monowhite elephants are... bad.

Watered down Provoke.

Invasion was boring, but it was also a hundred times more exciting than Masque block. Odyssey block was a personal favorite because most people couldn't understand the concepts behind it; even today I play Book Burning and target myself and people go "whaaaaa?"
This card is very typical of the only-slightly-playable efficiency fill standards of Invasion.

Non-trampling elephant is an oxymoron.

i feel like 2/3 would have been really balanced, considering its time and everything

With Exalted now in play, this elephant becomes a bit more fun (Exalted + Magebane Armor might be kinda neat here). Still, compare with the other elephant, Prized Elephant.

2/2 for 4 with psuedo-provoke. It could've been 3/2, 3/3, 4/2, 4/3 (though then it'd be quite good) and been inside the powercurve.
As it is, you can kill.. some.. creatures. Most of the time this will attack a mere 1-time.
