I like this card alot. i used to play it as a little kid in my mono-green ramp deck. The problem is that it is pretty expensive, and you could easily get a useless creature, unless of course the deck was built for the guy in which it could be phenomenal!
4.5 out of 5
( i kept thinking of a ramp deck with fertile grounds and rampent growths and no creatures but this guy and huge beaters like Broodmante dragon or Cloudthresher

might synergize nicely in an elemental deck along with Flamekin Harbinger.

I use this card in a mono-green EDH deck, and in a format where every creature is useful at pretty much any time, this guy is a force. Thicket, kick it, (and turn it all around), and whether you pull something small (Fierce Empath) or large (Terastodon), this guy is easily worth the seven mana.

Cascade for Creatures! 5/5 I love seeing new mechanics on old cards

Intersting effect. Expensive, but should be easy to play in elemental and green decks obviously.

Huh. Shouldn't this be an incarnation? And what exactly is thicker?

That has to be one of the most game-changing kicker costs i've seen on a card, by game-changing i mean if a kicked Thicket Elemental resolves, you could (potentially) end up with a Progenitus etc. the only other card I can think of with a kicker that is as good as this is Rite of Replication

I put it into my Momir Vig, Simic Visionary deck. I cast a spell, tutor for a creature, then flip up just what I need.
