It's a circle, it protects you from blue... ;)
circles dont get much play but they are really fun and often very effective. Try COP red first though...

Magical circles are such a widely-known fantasy trope that it's no wonder Wizards created a cycle of them. It's perfect flavour: the circle will save you from a specific type of magic, so long as you feed mana to sustain it when you're under attack. Of course, the downside is that unless you play against the same colours over and over, it's difficult to dedicate a spot to what could turn out to be a dead card. (only Story Circle really gets around this)
To comment on this card specifically, I have always found the original art for CoP:
a bit hard to interpret. The circle is pretty evident, but what exactly clues us in that this circle is protecting against blue magic? It looks like the mage here is sitting in a dark forest, which I would associate more closely with black or green.

She's a green mage, arch nemesis of blue mages and her circle of protection is a stone circle enchanted so that no blue damage gets trough. Beats me why this is a white card though.
