This being reprinted with Lure makes me happy.

Excellent in limited. He deters ground-based creature attacks, which gives you time to build up your resources and cast more fatties.

Why is this rated so low? It has a good toughness for the cost and deathtouch. The power isn't a big deal when you can destroy most blocking creatures.

His cost is apt, but the card is not at all game efficient.

Im considering main decking him in my casual//competitive mono green deck. Its either him or acidic slime for that slot. I got beast within to deal with artifacts//enchantments, and ima throw the slimes in the sideboard if i want to swap out. This guy just has a nice body, and slime dies to pretty much anything. This dude has 5 toughness so good survivability and he wins in combat vs anything that's not 5+ power with first strike or indestructible. And 3 damage is a big difference when attacking then 2 damage. Plus when I slap a lure on him, i can take out up to 3 creatures vs 2. Hes just intimidating and unexpected in competitive play. It will give me some style points as well.
