Interesting; the effect seems to have changed over time? Or perhaps, the wording changed to reflect the understanding of the game's rules better. It originally read "by opponent", here and on 5th edition it reads "target player", later it becomes "your opponents" in 6th edition. Incredibly confusing when you try to play with an older copy with people who aren't aware of this.
