I don't know why this is rated that low, 1/1 first strike for 2 isn't horrible, then you get the banding, which if you know how to use it could be good, I'm not positive if the band has first strike or if just one damage would be first strike.(?)

Actually, due to how banding works, the entire band would have first strike if every creature in the band has first strike, otherwise the band does not have first strike. The same is true for trample, flying, fear, etc.
