It's like Dredge's cute little Temple Bell. Inspiration for the magically insane.

Good against non-flashback decks which sound like they will still run the meta.

If you build your deck with lots of Disentomb-type effects (ghoulcaller's chant) along with flashback, this both mills your opponent to death (slowly) and practically nets you card advantage, as far as graveyard recursion is concerned.

I'm seeing the potential for a casual deck built around this and Lantern of Insight.
Voltaic Key helps if your opponent runs into a pocket of good cards.
Did I mention those are all one-drop artifacts?

I recently had my first Innistrad draft. Sombody had three copies of this, a Grimoire of the Dead, Splinterfright and some Boneyard Wurms. It wasn't pretty.

Combos with... What, half of the cards in Innistrad and half of the Black/Blue ones in its surrounding sets (M12)?
Being a 1 drop, it doesn't hurt you tempo much. It gives you card advantage for as long as you can use graveyards as a resource and your opponents can't. Flashback and reanimate ring a bell, don't them (pun not intended)?
My first reaction for this was "play it in blue/black". Sure, it's Vengeful Pharaoh's
favourite toy, and not potentialy golden in mill too. But then, Innistrad is full of graveyard love in other colors - like Splinterfright in green, a color which hasn't seen much of that since Tarmogoyf.
I just think it's a precious little toy, and it's definetly in the right set for it.

This is a really neat card. It's not very powerful, but it is very lovable, and it has the potential to do cute things. There are lots of ways to benefit from seeding graveyards, and if you drop it on turn one, it can do a lot of work in that regard. It could fit well in a multiplayer reanimator deck, for example, scaling with the number of players to give you more fodder for Rise from the Grave. Including Flashback and Unearth cards lets you get additional value from the self-milling. I like it for cutesy Geth, Lord of the Vault/The Mimeoplasm Commander antics. Are any of these interactions good? Probably not, but they seem fun. I like the fun moment of ringing the bell and seeing what happens.

There's a perception among a lot of players that Johnny cards are the weird and wacky effects like Eye of the Storm, Warp World, Eon Hub, Tree of Redem... (see all)

This really isn't that good, most of the time it'll benefit the opponent just as much as you

I think it's safe to call this strictly better than Worry Beads.
