Wow, Eric Deschamps' art is always so hit-and-miss. If it's good, it's REALLY good, like this one... and if it's bad, it's utterly TERRIBLE (see Captivating Vampire and Koth of the Hammer from Duel Decks).

just putting this here for some confused players:
5/1/2012: Tamiyo's first ability tracks the permanent, but not its controller. If the permanent changes controllers before its first controller's next untap step has come around, then it won't untap during its new controller's next untap step.
5/1/2012: The number of tapped creatures the player controls is determined when Tamiyo's second ability resolves.
5/1/2012: Tamiyo's third ability creates one emblem with two abilities.
5/1/2012: If you activate Tamiyo's third ability when she has eight loyalty counters on her, she'll be put into your graveyard before the emblem is created. She won't return to your hand.
5/1/2012: Cards that are put into your graveyard can be returned to your hand by the emblem's ability even if they were never in your hand.

With Tamiyo's first ability that taps a target permanent. Can she tap other planeswalkers since they are permanents, and would the planeswalker be able to use their ability's since you are adding and subtracting counters?

Love this card, put her in my Blue/White deck alongside Jace, and a 6 man FFA, was a blast.

Love when i can use this emblem and have out Talrand, the Sky Summoner and play twiddle infinitely for infinite drakes, or use Jace, Memory Adept to draw ten cards a turn.

Her second ability works well with the RTR card Blustersquall.
Cheap overload on Blustersquall makes this an easily achievable combo, so you don't take damage for a turn while simultaneously drawing more answers to the opponents creatures that you are tapping.

She is my favorite card in Avacyn restored. An incredibly good Blue planeswalker; not as good as Jace, the Mind Sculptor, but better, in my opinion, than Jace, Memory Adept. Pretty too. 10/10 and 5/5.
Breakdown of her abilities:
+1: Frost Titan's ETB Effect.
-2: Borrowing 100,000 Arrows.
-8: Praetor's Counsel for every card hereafter.

Tamiyo, the Moon Sage
Curse of Exhaustion
Cyclonic Rift
Dissipate
Congratulations, there's your standard deck. Fill in the blanks. Thanks, Tamiyo.

Great planeswalker, but she should have had some ability that forced or allowed you to return lands to your hand, just to keep the Moonfolk flavor alive. I suppose you can't have everything.
