A 1/1 Knight with vigilance for 
is not bad, and the pump is there in case you'd ever need it. Even if I'm hardly ever gonna use it, I appreciate the option of having it in the first place.
4/5 for being a decent 1-drop with a relevant creature type and the added option for pump should it ever be needed.

idk, the vigilance definitely adds to its usefulness, but a 1/1 for 1 drop is still a 1/1 drop. not incredible, not bad either, it's certainly better than an eager cadet or something of that variety.
nevertheless, me and my friends played with those duel decks like 5-6 times, despite appearing during every game its 1/2 pump was never used. so i guess in a pinch it's cool to soften some trample damage or something like that but i could just as easily pay for a holy strength, or just forego this card entirely. cool art though.

He does talk a good game for a creature that gets killed by an Insidious Bookworm. Who is this dialogue aimed at? the random people who just work for the guilds as a matter of convenience? The least of the guilds' servants, the guildmages, can all take him in a fight, easily, unless he has the backing f a powerful mage.

I am not sure why this is in knights VS dragons, despite his cruddy knight-dom. There HAD to be better knights in the history of all magic! it could at least have been an ice age pump knight, and I'm sure people would have reacted positively to see old stapes in new frames.

He's a relatively decent one-drop knight. Vigilance ensures that you can get that point of damage in, while still being able to block a creature if needed. His activated ability, while over-costed, is a nice option to have if ever you find yourself with some extra mana late-game. 3/5

The pump is a fantastic option for later on. 1/1 vigilance that gets pumped by a Honor of the Pure.
