I remember playing thsi back when Portal first came out. That is when I started playing Magic, and Dark Banishing may have been the most important card in the format. Wait, that card was Hand of Death, but it pretty much did the same thing.
This is actually a card that I wouldn't mind seeing come back. It is a powerful effect for limited, so it will always be played. The problem is that Design has sort of moved away from the "Cannot be Regenerated" clause. Besides, we have Doom Blade, so who needs Dark Banishing?
Kind of sad to see that such a well designed card no longer has a place in the game.

Very powerful removal that removes the non-artifact clause from Terror. There may be some tougher removal spells out there, but this one still holds its own.

i really prefer this one over terror, even though it's expensive. back in the day my friends all used juggernaut and other artifact creatures constantly. this did the trick. i loved having this in my deck along with a few ashes to ashes. Cheap stuff

I happen to love the art. I feel like a lot of art these days is afraid of brushstrokes and overenthusiastic about glowy lights. Time Spiral block at least gave an artistic nod with things like Walk the Aeons, Basal Sliver, Foriysian Totem , Stronghold Overseer, etc.
Kind of like how Yawgmoth Demon changed from awesome to awful in 9th edition.
And yes, these days Doom Blade is better (I am a fan of Putrefy myself, but that's not mono black) and Last Gasp is outstanding...but still, nothing to sneeze at.
