In terms of boosting, this card gets some bonus scattergory points for being an instant, but without trample, it might not make a difference.
If you are looking for an instant-speed "Overrun" effect, play Kamahl, Fist of Krosa. You get trample, can do it as many times as you want (per increment of 
mana), and you can turn your lands into creatures for creatures to receive the boost. This can double-up as a "get out of a boardwipe-free" card, since you can then turn their lands into creatures.
But if you don't have much green (Comparably, 2 Kamahl-Overruns costs 
and gives +6/+6 and trample), this is a much more effective alternative.
