Kinda underwhelming for EDH, but she does well enough in her home precon.

A solid common for a token-oriented deck.

The thing that lots of people that I know don't understand about the Ghave deck is that it's not primarily a token deck. SURE, your general can make tokens for mana. But the main mechanic's that are important are the +1/+1 counters and the sacrificing. Why do you think Martyr's Bond was made for this deck?

A year after the release of these decks, I got my friend this deck. He tried to make it a strictly token deck and it fumbled. Again, making lots of creatures isn't Ghave's thing. That's Rhys the Redeemed's thing.

Ghave's thing is making a 1/1 token, activating "enter the battlefield" effects (Soul Warden, Cathars' Crusade, etc.), blocking an incoming attacker, and then sacrificing that 1/1, activating "when a creature you control dies (Deathgreeter, Grave Pact, etc.). If you had some way to abuse the +1/+1 counters on Ghave (... (see all)

Stupid {T} symbol... yes I know without it, it would be a one card infinite combo, but it really makes this card so much worse :/

2.5/5 Stars
