Seems like a solid card. For BB1 You get a 2/2 which isn't awful for black and you get an easy way to counter white spells. I'd consider side-boarding in a casual environment.

Any time that Black can counter something is bad, especially if you roll it in with blue and use whim of volrath or mind bend.
