The overload for this spell is incredible against artifact decks. Pros like me will use the overload ability when our opponents have lots of artifacts.

This will probably see some Modern play.
5 mana is too slow to beat Affinity unless you've been on top of them for 4 turns, keeping them at bay, but if you can get this off... gg.

The "you don't control" seems to be extra verbiage until you check out the Overload. Neat.
But for 4RR, they'd better have some stuff you really hate.

@Jannissary Or, if you run Mycosynth Lattice you can make them cringe in pain, as before playing Vandalblast for its overload cost everything becomes an artifact... after playing Vandalblast for its overload cost, anything w/o indestructible they control goes bye bye - lands, creatures, enchantments, other artifacts, etc - throw in running things like Blood Artist and Hissing Iguanar in formats where they're legal, and in EDH especially, this becomes especially painful for your opponents as now they lose all their indestructible permanents and take damage for the creatures that die from this destruction. :D

One of the better artifact sweepers; it even sees Vintage play!
