What a shame. The old art was much better; not just because of the boobs, as others have suggested. The old Fire Elemental art has character- the pose, the expression, the framing of the scene all reflect the attitude of fire: sensuous and dangerous at the same time. Now look at this new mess. The camera has panned out so the artist can hide the lack of detail (read: effort) on the figure and the poor thing looks like its limping! Where's the "Fwoosh! Look at me! I am FIRE!" feeling you get from the old art?
Sadly, the mechanics of the card haven't aged well either. Potentially a nice beater in draft, but anywhere else red has better choices.

I'm much happier that no more Scoria Elemental's or Raging Poltergeist's were reprinted.
it's still nothing great, but Red isn't really the colour of tough creatures (that's mostly reserved for Green).

While this fella is rather generic, considering how many utter terrible creatures red has gotten in the 5 mana casting cost slot over the years, I think we should be happy with it.

I remember this guy, he was in my very first magic deck. He definitely hasn't aged well, but he's still a solid common for red. 4/5 for nostalgia

While I agree with other comments that the original art is the best, still, a couple bonus points to this one for being drawn by someone with the last name 'Maniak.'

Ideatog, I agree with you somewhat, but I actually feel like the is trying to represent the elemental hitting the ground and bracing like a meteor, see, the little molten paths in the rock where flame dropped, or the smoke trail?
