This card triggers when it comes into play off of opponent's black/red creatures. Soul triggers every time any creature, including your own, comes into play. Soul is generally better, even against creature-heavy R/B decks.
They even have Different creature types. This one has a more relevant tribe.

This actually seems like a decent card for your SB. 3rd turn against sligh you could get 4-6 life for only {W} !

Potentially powerful with Darkest Hour.
I use that combo along with ways to bounce this creature back to my hand and repeat, does well sometimes.

i like this card but i use a blue black. when i used a white this was good against foes.its like hibernation its only good on one type

This card is great for raking in health, especially against certain vampire decks that continuously spawn vampires. I find that the Venser (From Venser VS Koth) deck is more than capable of bouncing the card back onto the battlefield.
