I don't understand the abysmal ratings. If you're imaging this locking you out of drawing anything else just hold it off until you have a better board presence. And if you're imaging it locking you down because you're staring down a 3/3 and 2 life, guess what? You'd be dead either way. Every card has instances where it wouldn't be valuable to you.

This card is a great card in limited.
2/2 flyer for 4 is overcosted, yes. A recurring flyer that doesn't touch the graveyard is...useful. It trades with most of the other flyers and just comes back, and with Scavange buffing it up it can easily win you a game. It is also 1B so it is somewhat splashable.
However, it dies to the common removal card. If exiled, it ain't coming back and if you are in top deck mode this card can really screw you over.
4/5. A good card in the right situation and a fun pick in limited. Never gonna see play in constructed, I think, but who knows? Maybe in BUG control, with Blood Artist etc.

This card seems like a trap. It's like a Chimney Imp, only it puts ITSELF on top of the library. Still, this card actually have a use...
I could see a deck abusing this with Search the City. Imagine:

With some support its a fine card. You need some extra card draw, and black does that. Also you need some way of benefiting from sacrificing a creature, and black does that too.

2/5. A 2/2 flier that never dies for 4. Slightly overcosted, but an ok limited pick if necessary. Otherwise, its strictly a casual card.
