This and its mirror Knight of Stromgald formed a mirrored pair that were functionally equivalent to Order of Leitbur and Order of the Ebon Hand from Fallen Empires. If any of you own an old deck box from Ice Age, at this point they were still trying to push the idea of playing it as a separate game, OR as a Magic expansion. This explains why cards that were functional reprints of stalwarts like Benalish Hero - in this case Kjeldoran Warrior - existed. But ultimately it just meant more pump knights for your white and black decks.
Now that time has passed, the fact that this is not a Cleric (and Leitbur being Oracle-updated to be both Knight and Cleric) makes this slightly worse. However, its still a fine card and one that can benefit from Knight Exemplar, which makes its low toughness more negligible.

Awesome art, much better than any of the printings of clone Order of Leitbur. It's a shame that I have a playset of those and none of these.

WHY is Order of Leitbur a cleric when this isn't? Always confuses me. Not only are they mechanically similar except for the creature type, but the art and flavor could go either way as well. If this was some other creature type in addition to knight to make a more clear differentiation, I could see it, but Leitbur is a human knight cleric and this is just a human knight...

One of the few examples of a perfectly balanced card. Sure, it hoses black, but with enough mana this lady can go toe to toe with most other creatures out there, at least for 5+ years after its printing. What a bad mother shut your mouth!
