I wasn't familiar with this dual deck so I looked it up. This is from a mono-red deck and is one of the lower costed cards. It's a great pinger and very typical red card. I can see why the reprinted it and the purpose it serves. It is especially useful, as one might expect, against those typical blue wizards and other crafty blue creatures with only 1 toughness. No surprise the versus deck has a few of just such cards like Neurok Invisimancer.

No one can say STRICTLY better than Prodigal Pyromancer, mostly because this is 1RedRed, and pyro is 2Red.

Also, Shaman's are a much weaker tribal than Wizards.

Also, this isn't a Timeshifted version of Prodigal Sorcerer...

Also, the flavour text for Pyro is arguably much cooler (OR HOTTER, AMIRITE???)
