Why did this card recieve errata? The original version seems like it would have positive interactions with Chroma, but right now its not terribly useful. I think it should go back.

@psychokid121: Except that Celestial Dawn costs White more, not a cantrip, an Enchantment, turns everything in your deck white and only allows you to use non-white mana as colorless mana.
You might argue that "Celestial Dawn is a better realization of the concept of this effect", but just saying it's a better card is dumb, these two are totally different cards.

Dear Wizards,
I don't care if you did not like the way it was originally printed and you meant something different. The entire game is based on cards performing the actions they say. This is the most basic rule. You really can't *** with it.

The errata actually makes sense when you consider that the lands of the time all spelled out "{T}: Add (color) to your mana pool", which this card would then turn into "{T}: Add {W} to your mana pool".

The errata and the original version are nearly the same because the original changed all mana symbols on cards in your hand to white, so you could play Cromat with only white mana. The errata allows you to do basically the same thing, but not with Chroma. Sorry, Springjack Shepherd.

Interestingly, even though this and Celestial Dawn worked the same way before the errata, that got the clause "you can spend mana of other colors only as though it were colorless", but this didn't.

If the oracle text accurately represents what they meant when they first printed the card, the printed text is incredibly misleading.
