Confound those spells that target one or more creatures! They drive me to drink!

Every time I cast this card I'm going to restate the flavor text to apply to the situation. "Did I know that you would Doom Blade my Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind? I was counting on it."

Good card for Fish decks to protect your Lord of Atlantis, but it's not as versatile as Hindering Light.

Agreed, Hindering Light is better in many cases if you can support the . Confound on the other hand can protect your teammates' creatures or counter opponents' spells targeting their own creatures, so it's definitely useful.

Compare Intervene which is effectively the same, except you pay {1} more to draw a card. I'd play this.

Look at the flavor. I bet this card is amazing for vorthos. I bet that would give me goosebumps if i read the novel, unless thats an actual quote. It would be amazing if you didnt know Urza knew Szat would betray him, then read the rest of the story unfold. Then opening this card in a pack and getting more of the story from the cards. They should defitally link the novels this way. Its about time i started to get in depth with the story and start reading some of these things.

@lorendorky
I guess. Normally I cometstorm the opponent (or multiple opponents) for lethal. Instant speed and the ability to add targets cheaply while maintaining damage are key reasons comet storm is awesome. It can burn a bunch of creatures but often that's not how it's played, or at least.. in my experience
This seems useful, but I'd have to try it to see. Great synergy with Lullmage mentor (as they'll want to kill him..) but the limited use will be a pain in the ass against Green, and often Blue and White.
