Limited experience. Drafted but didn't put in deck. Would have liked him as a Spirit. Think I would rather have a 2/1 punk that can attack.

The most bad-ass Artifact Creature to hit the block since Porcelain Legionnaire. Defender is a shame, though.

I wonder why this isn't a Spirit, as it should be according to the name and flavour text.

This is currently the only creature legal in Standard. He's not a particularly good card either.
Hopefully they print something in Magic 2014 or Theros so we can have a replacement when Innistrad block rotates out of Standard in September.
I'm rooting for Steel Overseer.

I think it would have been fine if he cost .

Not bad at all. He may be subpar compared to Porcelain Legionnaire, but so is every other first-striker.

This is a perfectly acceptable and decent card.

I love the artwork. The flavor text is pretty good too. If it didn't have defender, it would be too good for an uncommon of its cost, but defender makes it practically unplayable even in casual constructed, and borderline even in sealed. I give it 2/5 because of the great artwork.

Building a casual Vintage deck around this and other classical
Necromancer tropes like Dark Ritual and Grave Betrayal
