Cool ability and all, but even then, 8 ana 5/5 trample is pretty...well, mediocre, at best. At 6 mana, it would be cool, although not really good, but here it's just...yeah.

I think we're all forgetting the most important fact here: his name sounds like like he's the lead singer of an 80's hard rock band. Axelrod Gunnarson? He may as well be Axel Hotrod von Gunsandroses Grateful Dead.
Anyway, I really dislike the notion that big spells should win the game on their own. It is, of course, correct to assume that they DO, I just don't think it should be the case. Often, it's a matter of who can get their $20 card to stick first- and granted, the effects of which are often epic (far be it from me to say that smashing face with Akroma doesn't feel good)- but I don't think reaching eight mana should ever be game over. I mean, the meta is packed with enough removal to make the United States missile stockpile blush, but eight mana should mean a very, very good card, not instant death. I guess I'm just a sucker for long games.
I also want to make clear that I am not insane, and this card IS overcosted, despite my rant.

5/5 trample was good back then. Other ability is ok. This is one of the better old legends, but far from the best.

8 mana does not equal 5/5 trampler + subpar ability. But, then again, he is from Legends.
