Play this in Kresh the Bloodbraided EDH/Commander and use it with something arbitrarily large like Lord of Extinction. The creature is sacrificed as part of the cost for Bloodfire Infusion's activated ability; Kresh gets a number of +1/+1 counters equal to the creature's power when that cost is paid - before the ability resolves and the damage is dealt - so he survives no matter how large the sacrificed creature was. Then he'll get pumped by all of the other creatures who die in the ensuing conflagration. Swing away!

Pigfish99 - no, as the creature isn't doing the damage, Bloodfire Infusion is.
Also, this seems surprisingly well made, decently cost and in a color that could use more global damage that varies, and also ya, good idea on the sac at EoT creatures... very well designed card.

Put it on something with firebreathing, pump it up, and clear the field.

If the sacc'd creature had lifelink, would it activate?

Preemptive Fling. Handy, if expensive.
EDIT: Reread it. Closer to Fling meets Pyroclasm. As a red enchantment.

This is an all-star mass removal option in my Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund EDH deck. Put this on a dragon and keep a mountain open. You can call it Bloodfire Hexproof, because suddenly everyone is scared to target your 7/7 flying dragon and make you sac it!
