This to Doom Blade is like Dispel to Counterspell - they don't do everything, but they sure do it for less.

If you run a dredge deck, this will be a doom blade plus.
Otherwise, its pretty good considering its cost. Hell, This could take down even 99/99's if you play the right kind of deck. sure, it'd be impractical, but awesome.

Hahaha, ya Lord_ascapelion I was thinking the same thing. Like he's thinking, "Just do it already." And this card is extremely good too. Early in the game if you cycle a lot, it can take out decent stuff, and later in the game, usually unless you are really whooping your opponent you will have like 10-15 cards in the graveyard by turn 7 or 8

It depends on what format you're playing. In Standard, it's unlikely that you'll have many cards in your GY early on, so Doom Blade is usually better (unless you built your deck around the GY). In classic formats, the GYs fill much faster due to all the one-mana draw spells and fetch lands, so this is almost always better.

Digit: No. If you're playing a deck that cares about threshold, it's better. In every other instance, Doom Blade is better, the extra mana isn't that much of a hurdle, and is worth it for more reliability. Besides, if you have that many cards in your graveyard, and are that far into the game, is one mana that much of a difference?
