He's pretty disappointing without the Threshold, though....

A 1/1 with vigilance is pretty good, although vigilance always works better with tougher creatures. With threshold though, it's a great card. The tricky part is that you need to fill your graveyard quickly to make it a good one drop, but several mechanics and cards excel at doing just that.
