Meerkat=Mongoose?

It seems the mongoose trio has a theme of just screwing over blue control decks. Seriously, if you want to beat a blue control deck just fill it with a bunch of mongooses.

That said, this one is even more situational then its brethren, Nimble Mongoose and Blurred Mongoose, so it doesn't even find a place in legacy, except maybe in very rare cases in a side deck.

3.5/5

EDIT: Wtf? I searched for the subtype "Mongoose", and this came up, with the oracle saying it had the type Mongoose. But if you look at the card it says "Summon Meerkat". Weird.

EDIT2: Ok, looked this up and apparently a Meerkat is a kind of Mongoose. It's still funny that the oracle does this adjustment though. Learning ecology: yet another benefit of playing MTG! :)

If I ever have children, I will bid them daily to "Be like the meerkat'. There is nothing not awesome about that advice.

Built a Lion King themed deck with these in it.
Not effective but funny.

How is protection from blue a Meerkat ability? Some kind of return-to-hand or phase-out reaction ability would fit better.
