@rulings: Whaaaat? It'll still gain trample... just not the rampage, right?

You have to cast it before blockers are declared? Wow, that's ever worse.

Imagine pulling this crap-meister as your rare in a pack....

Yeah, I really doubt the delayed-trigger was the intended effect.
Change it, please!

Even the original printed text was better than the current oracle text, although I like EternalLurker's proposal the best.

Still, wording aside, it's a solid card. I'd probably play it after attackers were declared, no point playing it precombat main phase or during the beginning of combat step, because that would give your opponent a chance to tap down the creature first. Combo with Taunting Elf.

Wow, Wizards, way to screw up the rulings even harder while trying to make "readable" Oracle text. Of course the creature should still get trample if unblocked according to the existing oracle text _and_ according to the original text. The ruling is just terrible.

This would be much more readable as "Until end of turn, target creature gains trample and gets +1/+1 for each creature blocking it." No rules issues with that simple definition. It's just a temporary static ability rather than this silly triggered ability.
