Should be rated higher. Basically a 2/2 for 1, and kills any creatures with a toughness of 1 without taking damage. It's no Savannah Lions, but considering this came out during a period of particularly weak creatures, it's fairly good.

Very nice card. Pity it isn't a knight. Still good with Cavalry Master

Solid 4/5. I still look at this card and consider it for a WW deck. I am thinking about putting him in my Soldier deck. Def. good still, like you said, especially looking at when it came out. I'm surprised I haven't heard more about this card.

Giant Growth this guy and give him a Darksteel Axe so you too can have a Mtenda 6/4.

This is a nice card, but it is not basically a 2/2. If it were, players would feel it was more important to block it and might be willing to give up their creatures to do so. As is, without pumping it up, most players who don't have somethign with 3 toughness or higher will simply take the single point of damage this deals. Also, if it were a 2/2 it could not be killed by a tim.

This creature is underrated. With Flanking, the -1/-1 counter resolves before the Combat Damage step, so it's better than First Strike. Am I right on this, anyone?
