@Albinobear43 There has always been some kind of hate for almost any type of deck out there. Admittedly, some of these cards are more agressive and can be sideboarded more easily than others, but no matter how cheap some hosers might be when played agains the accordant deck, it still doesn't make it bad in general.
Hosers will only be found in other players sideboards if that type of deck was competitive enough to become part of the meta in the first place, so isn't that merely a sign that such a deck had potential in the first place?
About the card itself: Damn! With that second ability, this is far more than just a sideboard choice!

I don't think it's a good idea to hose a keyword or a play style so bluntly. Admittedly, it's still not as bad as some of the the graveyard hate cards during Zendikar, Mirrodin, and Innistrad.

This didn't really hose hexproof as hard as everyone made it seem. The wording on it makes it fun in multiplayer formats, as you opponents get the benefit of targeting also. A random thing to note, you still can't target players with hexproof.
Also I really like the second ability, makes it useful even if there's no hexproof on the board.

There's too many potential answers. Eschewing the 'it's a magic spotlight' bit, it could do anything from cast a shadow that makes him targetable, to outlining anything living in a glow, to being a foci that makes one's spells 'homing'-- needs flavor text to explain the 'how'.

No.
If anything, I see its second ability pushing it into Aura decks to load up enchantments on a non-Hexproof creature, and its first ability being used to break Aura mirror-matches. This doesn't kill Aura decks; it's made for them.
