About as good here as it was in Avacyn Restored. Meh. Put some flashback card in your graveyard in exchange for a new card, essentially trading half a card for a full one. Having haste is cool for a looter. But 4 is a little expensive, this deck wants its 4 drop to either do more or just be another 1-3 drop.

Curves with rings of brighthearth and works well with Squee, Goblin Nabob. Overall compared to other colors' forms of filtering, this card is bad, but, in terms of what red can do in edh, these kinds of cards are nessecarry to have a deck with enough draw to fight through all the sweepers in the format. Cards like this are actually the nuts and bolts of a successful mono-red edh deck. In standard, this guys prolly not good enough, at 4 mana you should be playing something that's a problem for your opponent.

this would have been prime real estate for an alternate art :P I would have actually liked this to have Blightning's art spot, but Blightning is the much splashier card.
the thing is, Blightning doesn't NEED new art to make me play it. I love it already. :) This is admittedly a highly mechanically fitting card that just doesn't have enough Fire and Brimstone to feel Tibalt-y enough for me,
.....and actually COULD have been given more Fire and Brimstone, and a Tibalt-related flavor text even. :P Well, Wizards can't do EVERYTHING, and issues for common cards like this must be ranked pretty low on their to-do list compared to the ongoing debate in the Pit they MUST be having about 'When/How/Can/Do we reprint Force of Will or Jace, the Mind Sculptor?"
