BAD.
ASS.

it's kind of tough to make humor for really tough, Dark angsty Villains or Anti-Heroes that doesn't feel out-of-place...jokes about Sorin Markov are like jokes about Batman. But this is DEFINITELY an example a joke-moment done right! :D

the duel-deck reprint feels like such sloppy seconds when Putrefy is standard-legal again. so lame :(

This card is so damn good it's scary.
This is easily in the top 10 targeted removals in Magic, and it even rivals the likes of Vindicate since this is an instant. Since they both have the same exact mana cost they are a good comparison and a study of the importance of instant speed.
In the end this is actually better due to the speed but Vindicate is just cooler, more versatile, and super iconic which makes me like it more just as a card. Speed is also why Terminate edges out Dreadbore in the end as well.
Putrefy is ever so slightly better than this since it hits artifacts instead which is often more useful in my opinion.
Mortify/Putrefy 4.5/5
Vindicate 5/5
Terminate 5/5
Dreadbore 4.5/5

@Combofriend - I think you should probably look up "strictly better". Vindicate has got a little more flexibility insofar as targets, but this is INSTANT SPEED. That shouldn't need any further explanation.

I'm calling this one for Journey into Nyx, mostly since each God got a 3 CMC spell, and this would be perfect for Theros Block.

I think the new art and flavor text are both inferior to the original.
Still, it's good to see a reprint of this.
