I cracked this foil at the draft last night; probably the most stunning foil I own, and worth a hell of a lot more than the Molten Disaster I opened it with.

I don't know, I wish they stuck to the Ravnica art, because Duel Deck art is supposed to be special. Nonetheless, it's Lightning Helix, and we all like seeing this reprinted.

@Tinderbundler: Let's see. If you're at 1 or 2 life and draw Searing Spear, how much is it going to do? You can kill one of your opponents' creatures but if they've gotten you to 1 or 2 life, they're probably going to kill you. Lightning Helix buys you time, perhaps enough time to draw an answer - another burn spell or a big creature that could save you. Plus they cost exactly the same amount. It's just pure card advantage. Why go for the worse option if you're running those colours?
A much fairer comparison is to Lightning Bolt where Helix does fall a bit short but in many situations, it can still be better. It's overall a fantastic card. The 3 life doesn't always come in handy but when it does, it'll really save you.

Sorin's Thirst is already super powerful in my deck. This card seems downright broken. 1 more damage / life and can hit players for same cmc.

I just got the flavor of this card. I think it goes something like this: One bolt spirals out from the caster and hits the target (at lightning speed of course). The other bolt spirals back along the first carrying the precious life essence back to the caster. And it has that whole RNA to DNA feel. Quite brilliant actually. What you are seeing in the card art is the completion of the second bolt coming back. It would probably look something like one bolt showing up and then a split second afterward the other bolt being there too. :)

This card is one of those that is still crazy and will always be regarded as one of "those cards", but it's not quite bad enough for people to ragequit when you play it.
And to all those saying this is second to Lightning Bolt, I daresay that this is, in fact, the best.
