I find it curious that the newly hatched dragon token is stronger than a Dragon Hatchling.
@Zetan: ...Did you design Homelands? XD

Damn, that's cool. Nice throwback to Rukh Egg.

Great card for . On turn three, you'll get a wall that threatens to turn into a buffing hitter. Great for early-game defense and smashing for late-game offense. Nice red shift from the white Roc Egg, and the -1/-1 won't be missed in return for fire breathing. In casual, it'll be competing against the more (usually) preferred Dragonspeaker Shaman, but tribal purest decks will finally have that 3 drop they were looking for after the recent addition to Dragon Hatchling.
Jack Wang has always liked slightly angled-looking viewpoints, and he stuck with it in this card. The distant and upward-looking point of view gives an eerie atmosphere. And the background flame illuminating the egg coupled with a darkened surrounding area adds to that effect greatly. Add in some very detailed gold coins, swords, shields, and skulls, and you've got a wo... (see all)

In the Arcana for July 23rd 2013 (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/1282), Trick comments that the art de***ion called for an egg at least eight feet long.
Does that strike anybody else as strange? This art doesn't make that egg look eight feet tall... look at the coins and the skull at the base of the egg!

Neat little card, mostly for dragon tribal decks, but possibly for competitive decks at some point. It's basically a hastey 2/2 dragon with firebreathing that comes out when all of your mana is untapped.

Dragon Tribal may actually become affordable! (mana-wise)

Dragon egg right next to Dragon hatchling in the spoiler. I'd call that a win

Good with any effect that lets you sacrifice creatures for value, but my favorite is Sarkhan the Mad for obvious reasons

For optimal flavor, this should have:
Tap Dragon Egg and a Dragon whose toughness is four or greater: Put a warmth counter on Dragon Egg. When there are three or more warmth counters on Dragon Egg, sacrifice it.
Finally, to make it worth all that work, the Dragon token should start at 1/1 and get a +1/+1 counter for each warmth token on Dragon Egg when it dies.
Probably too complicated, I know, but I love complicated top-down cards.
Edit:
@Totema: You found me out, I'm actually Scott Hungerford. ;)
@Leshrac_Nightwalker: You're right... I just measured, and one of the coins very close to the egg (so as not to be fooled by perspective) is only about 1/10th the length of the egg. That would make the coin 9.6 inches across... that's a big coin! :P
