I love the new art.
As for the card, well, it's always excellent. I wouldn't necessarily call it 5/5, but anyone who rates lower than 4 is mad. Or new.

"Over such beauty, wars are fought. With such power, wars are won."

Gilded Lotus and Thran Dynamo in the same set? These are great cards, but I feel like FTV 20 was missing a few staple cards that were the true players in their respective standard formats. Like Umezawa's Jitte and Grave Titan. Who could forget playing against those cards?

@Ferlord: Doesn't it literally mean "covered in a layer of gold", which is exactly what this (finally) is?

Almost wish it was a Volgan Baga piece, but this is still.....ridiculously long over-due. :P

The term "Gilded" usually refers to something that is at first seen as great and valuable, but has a cheap or hidden interior. A good example of something that is Gilded would be Rolex watches you can buy for $10.
On that note, why doesn't this card represent that? The flavour text mentions its beauty, but then mentions its power. This doesn't make sense! Calling it something like Gold Lotus or Darksteel Lotus would've made more sense.
If it was truly gilded, it should have had counters on it or had Fading. That way, its usefulness would wear away. Kind of like Sphere of the Suns.

Wow! The new Gilded Lotus illustration is ridiculously beautiful! And it still has that awesome flavour text!
