Most instances of "Monster" or a word that has to do with Monster in a card's total text??

That thing is excellent in limited. 5/5 for 5, even though it might not be able to attack for now, is quite alright.
Turning it monstrous can also be use to immediately pop one of the Ordeals.
When turning it monstrous, remember you can turn one of your non-Islands into an Island if your opponent already happens to own one - else you only help him manafixing.

I think Blue may have some of the best monstrous.
Why?
Because blue is capable of protecting its creatures, stalling till land comes, and can cheaply bounce all other monstrous creatures (setting them back two turns).
Also, blue likes finishers. Monstrous delivers.

Like I've said on other cards, "Islandhome" is an interesting and flavourful drawback that can be utilised in many different ways. Here's a fairly interesting monster that uses one half of the drawback to get a bigger than average body for the mana cost, like most creatures with one or both aspects of the drawback, in addition to an ability that supports itself, so that support such as Spreading Seas is not as necessary.

Islandwalk would have made this awesome, and make up for the fact that it can't attack until it becomes monstrous.

More likely to be mainboarded compared to Harbor Serpent. But a lot less interesting a sideboard creature.
