It is costed a lot more than the other members of this cycle, but with lifelink being fairly powerful in limited and black having fairly few options for triggering Heroic, it is much appreciated.

Black, the least Heroic color, gets the most underwhelming heroic enabler, but it's actually still playable if you have enough creatures in your deck to work with.
