This card is so great with etb effects. Granted Restoration angel is usually better and Cloudshift is instant speed so you can use it during your opponents turn but you can also use it on your opponents permanents as well to get rid of counters on a planeswalker or whatever.

The first time I saw this card, I saw a poor man's Restoration Angel. I thought that it was hopelessly inferior because it doesn't have flash, and the exiled permanent doesn't return until EOT. Then it dawned on me... any permanent. While it isn't as effective as Resto and Cloudshift for abusing your own ETB triggers, and it can't save a creature mid-combat, it has about a million other applications. This is based on someone else's work, props to the guy who wrote this on a certain Internet forum.
1. Cast it to reuse a positive ETB trigger on one of your creatures (Thragtusk, Blade Splicer), or a negative one on one of your opponent's creatures (Phyrexian Dreadnought).
2. Cast it to untap one of your own creatures after attacking with it.
3. Cast it targeting your own land to untap it, basically making it cost one less mana that you can use on something at instant speed (au... (see all)

Its wings disturb more than air
and its art disturbs more than just children

That artwork is too creepy even for a black card. The least they could have done would have been to give it a new picture. Seriously. Did the art director tell the artist to paint "Satan's Flickerwisp of Death"?

This card is excellent for someone who isn't perturbed by the strange Lorwyn-Shadowmoor Elemntal creature, and if you want to play a less weird looking, just as effective card, go with Cloudshift, or for Old Style points, Flicker.
The card is so proven it made it into Modern Masters as an uncommon, so the art was all I could think of that was a legitimate point of interest.

@ Umbric
That one mana is worth a LOT. Resto angel is fantastic but different versatility and and a lower cost definitely puts Flickerwisp even, if not better.

There's something I very much like about creepy white art like this.

The number of things this hoses and messes with is huge; as discussed on just about any flicker card. This guy gets brutal with your own flicker effects but there's no need most of the time. He's evasive and beats down well, he chumps like a king, he enabled you to attack through a giant beater and breaks board stalls.
5/5

Let's use technical terms here, guys. This card is da bomb diggity.
Automorphs an Akroma, Angel of Fury and exiles a PERMANENT with Sundial of the Infinite. It's made for Vial. @Havrekjex said most of the rest.
Funny thing is, there's a deck where you can abuse most of that...
