Good for a consistent life advantage (assuming he survives the fallout of the epic battle sure to rage around him). I always felt bad for the creatures in the more passive cards like this one. Forced to wittness untold slaughter and destruction anf occasionally have its life thrown away without so much as a second thought. This guy looks so peaceful and chilled out! (Despite the flavor text)

Arguably the second MVP in the Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 Eldrazi deck. Yes, it's got a couple of Titans (The Actual MVP) and the Eldrazi, but this is what keeps you alive to play them.
