Actually, what upped the rarity is not Inspiration, it is a mechanic in both Theros and Born of the Gods.
Bestow. No longer can players pile up Bestow creatures on one guy with no fear of removal. If you do, all of it will be for naught with this card.

It should be noted that this is currently the only card in Theros limited with this kind of shut down effect. The only other card that comes close is Chained to the Rocks, but it pretty much requires you to run .
True, it's still ridiculous, but it shuts down that one enormous-bestowed-creature decktype that's becoming popular in limited.

Underwhelming at common; bumping its rarity up isn't doing it any favors.

Blech, it doesn't even have the courtesy to tap the creature it's enchanting.

Take that Inspired decks!
At least at uncommon rarity, it won't show up as much.

They probably upped the rarity because it 's anti-Inspired tech... I can see what they were going for, but not sure that they made it there...

Mana cost aside, the context they're putting this in is unflavorful for what it does.
Banishing someone into the very cosmos itself is more like an exile, or at least bounce effect.
In time spiral it at least made sense.

Yeah it's 6 mana, but I'd play Sip of Hemlock in sealed and it doesn't draw me a card and lets all those bestow guys fall off.
