Feels almost Orzhov, doesn't it? I can see why that suspiciously lifelike nugget would be redeemable only at Syndicate businesses...

Devon Rule used gold tokens in his submission to the GDS2, which seemed to go over well with the judges. They worked similarly to this. Coincidence, or forward synergy with the next set?

Love the mechanic and flavor.
That gold is freaking gold, haha.
Immediately cast something else for 1 mana, or ramp things up on your next turn. Or even just keep the gold because you have other plans (Metalcraft, Affinity), or simply because you're just plain greedy.
I originally expected us to get noncreature tokens much sooner (not counting Prototype Portal, since it doesn't come with specific tokens in boosters).

It's black, it's splashable, and it gets rid of almost anything. Oh, it also gives you a little mana to boot. Folks, this card is pure gold. (Pun intended)
