2r bestow +2/+2 is very good, drawback or not. I don't think any other bestow gives you such a boost at three mana.

Not as good as Gnarled Scarhide as a creature, but better than when bestowed (Assuming we're bestowing onto our own creatures)

The low bestow cost gives this great versatility for aggro decks in limited. He's a decent aggressive body on his own if you need a creature, or a way to pump up your 2/1s or 1/1s to get past your opponent's Sigiled Starfish.

Throw it on a Boros Reckoner since he never gets blocked anyway.

Or you can suit up an opponents creature to force them to swing into the Reckoner. Preferably with a dictate of the twin gods at the ready.
