Can we have more Squelching cards with P/T equal to your number of swamps. I want that to be called "the Squelching ability".
Plays well with Squelching Pegasus.

He's no heir to the Blackblade, but for a big pile of leeches, he's pretty good.

I play a slightly more aggro casual Mono-Black
This was the only card in the set that deck was excited about. (Gluttony is too disadvantageous)

Huh. They usually make these things "splashable", i.e. require only a single colored mana. I suppose Devotion is a good reason to break that rule...

Compare to nightmare:
Nightmare
+ Flying
+ Is a unicorn
+ Has Been around since alpha
+ Less black required (Though doesn't really count seeing as you only run them in mono-black, unless you run Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and you want to use these guys for some reason)
- Costs 2 more
Leeches
+ Costs less
- No flying
- Leeches are ugly
So discounting all the trollish arguments, it's really a case of would you pay 2 more for flying on your fatty?

The card name alone makes me feel . . . uncomfortable.

So this is an uncommon Nightmare for two less, and all it loses is flying? Am I missing something?

@captainnermy:
Yes, you're missing Lashwrithe.

When I saw this I instantly thought of the leech guy from Resident Evil Outbreak.
Anyone?

Requires you to shove quite a lot of swamps in your manabase to not suck.
