Honestly of your going to pay 3 colorless a turn to ping 1 damage, you might as well use Prodigal Sorcerer. At least with him you get a 1/1 body that just need a tap.

I enjoy throwing a bad card into an edh deck that can make good use of it. as soon as I build my Sydri deck, this'll be in it.
