I love the flavor of this card.

Protection from red still gets around this. With the protection in place, you can't target it with this spell in the first place, so damage prevention is redundant.

does that mean that if they counter it, they don't prevent the damage?
if they have protection from red?
if it still works at those times, worth it, but if not
sucks
