Shock was 'Meh', Lightning Bolt was insane, this Incinerate got it just right.

I once read that Fischer had an actual candle behind his artwork and that this is a photo of that. Not sure if it is true.

I'd say it kills a lot of creatures. In a red deck, it is always usefull.

I was actually surprised when they decided to put this into the core set. I mean, it was GOOD before, a nice versatile instant that could kill just about anything you would want to kill with a burn, and saw play outside of Standard. Now? Well.. I'm still holding out for Counterspell

It doesn't look like photo-realistic fire in the background. Actually, it's strikingly similar to the fire on Immolation.
